Once you have decided on the air conditioning system for your home, most people want to know the running costs, since they’ll be paying the bills.
Actual running costs depend on the size of the unit and how much time it is operating at full load and your local electricity cost. The examples below will give you an idea of the maximum cost per hour for heating and cooling.
In the product information of the purchased air conditioner, there will be an energy label (as below). To work out the running costs, you will need the Power Input kW figure.
You will also need the rate at which you are charged by your electricity provider (this can be found on your electricity bill)
Once you have them, these numbers will help you understand how much it will cost to run the system for both heating and cooling. Simply enter them into the box below and running costs will be automatically calculated.
